The minister shares a message on The Principles of Career Growth, calling us into a deeper understanding of how God desires both spiritual and career advancement in our lives. This sermon focuses on the following key points:
🌱 God Calls You to Grow
God’s plan for your life includes increase, multiplication, and fruitful impact. From Genesis, you were made for dominion (Genesis 1:28). Jesus grew (Luke 2:40), Samuel grew (1 Samuel 3:19), and Isaac waxed great (Genesis 26:13). Therefore, growth is not optional, it’s expected.
📈 Growth vs. Productivity
Career growth is your long-term development, progressing in skill, responsibility, and influence. Career productivity is your ability to deliver results consistently. Like Daniel, be known for both (Daniel 5:12; Daniel 6:3).
📖 Growth Must Be Activated
God’s promises are real and powerful, but they require activation:
-
Mix the word with faith (Hebrews 4:2)
-
Walk in love (Galatians 5:6)
-
Apply the word through action (James 2:17)
📚 5 Principles for Personal and Career Growth
1️⃣ The Principle of Character Building
Integrity is the bridge to promotion. Can you be trusted? “Integrity will lead you to success” (Proverbs 11:3 TPT). David was chosen not just for skill but for his heart (1 Samuel 16:18). Your character is your foundation. Prioritise honesty, dependability, and generosity.
2️⃣ The Principle of Self-Awareness & Self-Love
You cannot grow if you don’t know or value yourself. David said, “You have searched me and known me” (Psalm 139:1-5). Invest in yourself. Buy the truth (Proverbs 23:23). Reflect on who you are now and who God has called you to become.
3️⃣ The Principle of Commitment to Grow
Growth doesn’t happen accidentally. Be intentional and eliminate procrastination. Paul said, “I press toward the mark…” (Philippians 3:13-14). Redeem the time (Ephesians 5:16 AMP). You often have more time than you think.
4️⃣ The Principle of Taking Action
Take strategic steps. “By wisdom a house is built” (Proverbs 24:3 AMP). Make necessary sacrifices, accept correction, and hold yourself accountable. Adapt and adjust your goals as life evolves. Let your experiences refine you and not define you.
5️⃣ The Principle of Lifelong Learning
Never stop learning. It keeps your mind fresh, expands opportunity, and deepens your impact. “Let the wise listen and add to their learning” (Proverbs 1:5). The more informed you are, the more valuable and fulfilled you become.
💧Pain Can Also Be a Teacher
Use your mistakes and trials as stepping stones, not stumbling blocks. Reflect. Seek mentors. Refuse to settle for complacency or the lie that you’ve “arrived.”
💡Growth is not an option. It’s your calling. God has destined you to become more, do more, and live fully. Commit to the journey of growth, and see the hand of God establish every step you take.
