Faith & Spritual Growth

August 2, 2026 |
| Tunde Kikiowo

The minister delivers a message on Enlarging Your Spiritual Capacity, reminding us that the kingdom of God is already at work within us and that spiritual growth is both commanded and expected. This sermon focuses on the following key points:

đź‘‘ The Kingdom Within
The kingdom of God does not come with outward observation, for it is already within you (Luke 17:20-21). What shows on the outside is evidence of the spiritual transformation happening on the inside.

🌱 Growth Is Commanded, Not Optional
Peter instructs us to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). We are not limited by outward challenges—we must be aggressive in pursuing more of God, individually and as a church.

🪞 Character Must Change, Not Just Circumstance
What you do is what you become, but growth isn’t only about material prosperity—your character must transform. Jesus offers rest and a way out of every struggle for all who labor and are heavy laden (Matthew 11:28); we don’t condemn the sinner, but we do address the sin.

🔥 A Personal Encounter, Not Just Doctrine
True spiritual growth is a dynamic, experiential process driven by a personal encounter with God through the Holy Spirit—not merely intellectual accumulation. Paul prayed that believers would comprehend the width, length, depth, and height of God’s love (Ephesians 3:18), and be filled with the knowledge of His will in wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9-10).

🦌 Hunger for More of God
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst, for they shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). As the deer pants for water, so our souls should pant after God (Psalm 42:1-2). The more we chase after Him, the more He reveals Himself (James 4:8, 2 Corinthians 3:18), and the more we are changed (Romans 12:1-2).

🛡️ Standing Your Ground for God
Throughout Scripture, people stood firm for what they believed: David faced Goliath boldly (1 Samuel 17:46), Joshua and Caleb declared the land could be taken (Numbers 13:30), Daniel offered a solution under threat of death (Daniel 2:16), Mordecai refused to bow (Esther 3:2), and the three Hebrew boys refused the golden image (Daniel 3:18).

💡 Commitment to spiritual growth is a personal decision—you are either all in or all out. Develop yourself, build your spiritual muscle, grow your faith, and let your light shine more and more (Proverbs 4:18).
