Career Success: The God Factor

July 27, 2025 |
| Tunde Kikiowo

The minister concludes the series on Career Advancement with a message on Career Success: The God Factor. This sermon focuses on the following key points:

👉 The secret to meaningful success in your work and career is not only skill or effort but the unmistakable advantage of God’s presence, guidance, and blessing.

🌟 Success Begins with God’s Presence
Just like Joseph and Moses, carrying God’s presence sets you apart. “The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did…” (Genesis 39:2).

👉 Without God’s presence, even the best qualifications are insufficient. “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain…” (Psalm 127:1). Promotion comes from God, not just from east or west (Psalm 75:6). Rely on Him in prayer and gratitude (Deuteronomy 8:18).

🛤 Order Your Life Around God
Real might and power are rooted in living a life intentionally arranged around God’s will. Jotham “became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God” (2 Chronicles 27:6).

👉 Order your decisions, moves, and routines by seeking God’s guidance (Proverbs 3:6), trusting Him for stability even during uncertainties (Psalm 112:7). Invite God into your every day: from meetings, presentations to commute. Pray through it all!

🚶‍♂️ Walk in Obedience and Love
True career success is tied to walking in God’s ways:

  • Obey His Word and honour Him, for if you’re “willing and obedient you will eat the good of the land” (Isaiah 1:19).

  • Guard your words and relationships. Speak well, avoid bitterness and walk in love (Psalm 34:12-13).

  • Walk in holiness. Your character and integrity ensure that blessing remains upon your work.

🎯 Do All for God’s Glory
Give, serve, preach, and live out your faith at work. When your career becomes a platform for God’s praise, you model a life of significance and fulfilment.

💡God is the ultimate factor for true and lasting career success. Stay dependent on Him, order your life around His will, and watch Him establish the work of your hands!
