Faith & Spritual Growth 2

August 9, 2026 |
| Tunde Kikiowo

The minister delivers a message on Why Spiritual Growth Matters, reminding us that building spiritual capacity is vital for a deeper connection with God and a more fruitful life. This sermon focuses on the following key points:

❤️ To Know God Better
The more we expand our spiritual capacity, the more we can grasp the depth of God’s love and wisdom, being filled with the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:18-19). Growth is never accidental—it is intentional. When I was a child, I thought as a child, but growing up means putting away childish ways (1 Corinthians 13:11).

🌿 Bear Spiritual Fruit
As we remain in the Vine, we bear much fruit, but apart from Him we can do nothing (John 15:5). Jealousy, comparison, and quarreling reveal a fleshly, immature mindset rather than spiritual depth (1 Corinthians 3:1-4), and one member’s growth or struggle affects the whole body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:25-27).

🛡️ Strengthen Our Faith
Expanding our spiritual understanding helps us stand firm, rooted and built up in Him, overflowing with thankfulness even in challenging times (Colossians 2:6-7).

🤲 Equip for Service
Each of us should use the gifts we’ve received to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace (1 Peter 4:10). Growth makes us teachable, dependable, and obedient, opening the door for God to do more through us.

🦋 Experience Transformation
As we grow, we become more like Christ, no longer tossed by every wind of doctrine but speaking truth in love and growing up into Him (Ephesians 4:13-15). We are transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2).

🏡 Prepare for Eternal Life
Spiritual growth prepares us for our eternal home, as we’re called to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). Every day brings us closer to heaven.

🌾 A Call to Personal Pursuit
Like Paul, our desire should be to know God more (Philippians 3:10). What God is doing in someone else’s life has nothing to do with your own journey—focus on your growth. Oh that His people had hearkened to Him, for He would satisfy them with the finest of the wheat and honey from the rock (Psalm 81:13-16).

💡 2026 must be your year of becoming all that God has called you to be. Life is a gift, and you are a progressive revelation of who God wants you to be on the earth. Greatness and might is your portion.
