The Second Coming

April 19, 2026 |
| Tunde Kikiowo

The Second Coming of Christ and Living with Eternity in View, reminding us that believers must not only live for today but also prepare for the future God has promised. The message emphasizes hope, holiness, readiness, and the reality of Christ’s return (John 14:1-41 Thessalonians 4:15-18).

🌟 Our Future Is in Christ
Jesus promised that He is preparing a place for His people and will come again to receive them to Himself (John 14:1-4). Heaven is a holy place where only those written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will enter (Revelation 21:22-27). Our hope is not in temporary things, but in an eternal future with Christ.

✨ Work Out Your Salvation
Believers are called to live as new men and work out their salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). Faith will be tested, so we must contend for it and stand firm in trials (Jude 1:3). A true believer does not just profess faith, but overcomes.

📣 The Rapture and the Marriage Supper
The sermon points to the rapture as the beginning of our final celebration with Christ, followed by the Marriage Supper of the Lamb (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18Revelation 19:7-9). This future hope should shape how we live today. The communion table gives us a foretaste of that coming fellowship with the Lord (Mark 14:25).

🕊 Live as a Citizen of Heaven
We are called to live with eternal perspective, reflecting the values of God’s kingdom on earth. That means living in hope, holiness, hospitality, and mission (Philippians 1:20-232 Corinthians 5:20). Every invitation, every act of love, and every soul-winning effort points people toward the coming feast.

🔥 Be Ready for Rewards
Christ will return, the final judgments will come, and there will be a new heaven and a new earth where God’s people will dwell forever (Daniel 9:27Revelation 20:11-15Revelation 21:1). What we do now matters, because every work will be tested by fire and rewarded accordingly (1 Corinthians 3:10-15). The question is not just what we possess, but what has eternal value.

💡 Eternal Perspective
The call is clear: live with heaven in mind, build wisely, and do not be carried away by temporary things. Ask of every decision, “What is the eternal significance of this?”
