The Inner Man in Relation to Gratitude

August 3, 2025 |
| Pastor Bel

The minister shares a transformative message that illuminates the journey of spiritual growth and the role of thanksgiving in shaping our deepest selves.

🌿 Understanding the Tripartite Nature of Man
Humans are composed of body, soul, and spirit distinct from animals, which lack a spirit (Job 32:8, Ps 22:9). The body is our outward vessel, experienced through the senses, while the soul (heart, mind, emotions, will) is the center for decision-making and spiritual interaction (Prov 4:23, Rom 12:1-2). Our spirit is where God communes with us, enabling new birth and spiritual discernment (John 3:3-6; 1 Cor 2:11).

💖 The Inner Man: Spiritual Core
Scripture refers to the “inner man” as the spiritual part of the self—distinct from the body and soul (Eph 3:14). The inner man is where the Spirit of God convicts, guides, and brings transformation (John 16:8; Acts 24:16). It is also the seat of the conscience, knowing good and evil (Rom 2:14-15).

🏛 Your Body: A Temple
The body is not merely a shell but God’s gift and the temple of His Spirit (1 Cor 6:19-20). It’s to be surrendered as a living sacrifice, a physical expression of inward spiritual realities (Rom 12:1-2).

🌸 Gratitude: Transforming the Inner Man
Gratitude isn’t just saying “thank you”, it is a core spiritual discipline that shapes the inner self (Ephesians 3). By consistently practicing thankfulness, the inner man is strengthened, bringing lasting joy, peace, and love (Gal 5:16-17, 22-23). Gratitude is a response to God’s goodness and should becomes a lifestyle, acknowledging every good thing, expressing thanks in actions and words, and letting this attitude permeate all areas of life.

🌟 Lifestyle of Gratitude
A grateful heart transforms relationships, increases happiness, and deepens connection with God. Continuous thanksgiving fosters a healthy mindset and spiritual growth, empowering believers to walk in purpose and vibrant faith (Ephesians 3).

đź’ˇThe transformation of the inner man is fuelled by gratitude. Let a thankful spirit guide every thought, decision, and interaction, unlocking a life filled with peace, joy, and powerful spiritual growth.
